Text to HTML Code Ratio

Hi,

I continuously audit my site for any SEO errors, and to check whether everything is up-to-date. However, recently I came across the ‘Text to HTML’ code ratio being a major concern for my site.

I understand this maybe a problem for pages like – Home, Contact and About. However, this has been a problem for my main posts.

The articles that I write, have a ratio of 6%, which is below the recommendation Google suggests.

My post article is a simple design, and I write 2500-3000 average words for each.

I don’t know where this issue might be, and how do I improve this ratio segment. If your team could help me figure this out, I’ll be glad.

Hello @justinmrnd5!

I understand your point of view. The problem is that the html is longer than your words in the posts. But you can not do much about it and reduce the code because is much responsible for your page design. Check this article too: https://www.thewebinaut.com/blog/pages-have-a-low-text-html-ratio
In order to increase the text to HTML ratio, you can: remove huge white spaces, avoid lots of tabs, remove comments in the code, avoid tables, resize and optimize your images. As a faster suggestion, maybe you can find a plugin which can optimize the html code too.

Hope that helps you!

Thank you!

The theme has too much inline code, and that’s the main reason.

Hello @teknolojisk!

You can use a plugin for that to optimize the lines of the CSS too which create the multiple inline lines.

Thank you!
