Template pages

I have seen that all the templates behave like one page of the site, and they even get indexed on Google (without the content). Is there any way to make them not published? If I tell Yoast not to index them, then all the posts that I make using that template will not get indexed.

Would it be enough making the templates “private” instead of “public”? If I make them not published, would I still be able to use them?

I just checked that if I make a template private and not public, it would not work and the post would go to default template. Any way that a template cannot be public and still work?

Hi desirevp,
I think that you are referring to cloud templates, if is so, then you can tell to Yoast to not index them (https://i.imgur.com/Q4PBWwo.png), and only the cloud template will not be indexed, the posts will be.
The cloud templates are used only for the website layout, so if you not index theme will be no problem, you can keep index the rest of website and when this will be access will use the cloud templates.
If you make the template privet, then this can no longer be used for posts (those must be public to can be apply on website and to be visible for the visitors).
Also, once the cloud templates are indexed, you need to use the Yoast to not index them and after that you need to ask google to reindex the website (the the cloud will be remove from google results).
Thank you!
