I’m trying to insert custom php to call a widget area I created but I can’t seem to get it to work. Can you tell me what files need the code in them to show a widget area on the top of the content area for posts and pages?

Hi hauntedpixel,
If you are using Widget, then you can add those on pages and cloud templates by using tagDiv Composer and setting the widget sidebar element -> https://i.imgur.com/JHdYtUE.png -> https://i.imgur.com/s0Oco6w.jpg -> https://i.imgur.com/OK6pdFn.jpg
