I’m not sure what you mean, if your images don’t fill the whole container please regenerate your thumbnails using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/

I don’t know what your issue is. If you have seen that only few hours and now cannot be recreated, maybe it was a caching issue. Please clear cache if you use a cache plugin and also browser cache.
When you have an issue please provide a screenshot to see that and maybe I can provide an accurate solution as I see that create your site on local.
