Please update also the plugins that come with the theme’s files from the /plugins folder: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
You can try this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer plugin active, clear cache and check if you still have this issue.

Thank you for your reply. I installed the version of the plugin I had in the latest Newspaper theme. Once installed and activated, it’s telling me that there is a recent version of the composer, once I click on the link, I need to pay 33$.

The Visual Composer plugin that comes with the theme is licensed to the theme, the license specifies that only we can provide the updates and you don’t have to buy it or register it. We provide updates on a regular basis, after we test the plugin for theme compatibility.
Also about your issue please disable all plugins, leave just Visual Composer active and also try without any js/css minification and clear cache as I checked your site and you have some errors in console: http://screencast.com/t/qGIswamxmD

Thanks! It’s working fine now. I guess it was an issue with the W3 Total Cache plugin.
As for the VC, so it’s normal that there is a new version available, we have to wait that you test the version right?
Yes, the Visual Composer plugin will be updated when a new version of Newspaper will be released. Till then please ignore the update message.
