This is the dev site for a theme swap on a long established website with a huge comment database. When Newsmag is activated it shows the proper comment count for posts, but the comments are not displayed; not anywhere, on any post site wide.
Ive check that the call to comments is in all the single.php template.
<?php
locate_template(‘loop-single-1.php’, true);
comments_template(”, true);
?>
any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!
i’ve also enabled then diabled comments and re-enabled comments in the WP settings, in the individual post and in template settings.
they still will not display.
Hi,
I have checked your site so please remove any custom modification that you have made to the code: http://screencast.com/t/9LGvkepVgvf
Also please enable comments from Post Settings – http://screencast.com/t/LyqgKr1t0 and for individual post – http://screencast.com/t/vhqTSvpLRN and let me know how it goes, but first please remove any modification from the code like I said above.
Thanks!
Alin
Sorry, i accidentally left that broken comment code when you had looked. That was not the problem.. Take a glance nbow and you’ll see the comments counted.. Just not displayed.
and comments are and have been turned on in the post settings and each individual post.
Thanks,

Thanks Chris… All plugins are disabled except tagdiv social and visual composer.
if you type a comment it shows as you would expect it to, and deletes the count that was showing. but any comments in the database already, do not display.
Hi,
Please give us wp and ftp access so we can take a closer look at this. Provide your wp admin and ftp credentials at contact@tagdiv.com and also send us a link to this conversation so we can know who you are.
Thanks!
turns out it was a database issue with thre comments.. All sorted now. Thanks for the help.
