The demo content did not include all the pages shown in the themeforest demo, that is why the menu has less items

How can I get these missing ones?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

In the theme we included a smaller version of the demo which comes with all page templates and the basic setup for starting a site. We didn’t included the whole demo because we wanted to keep the theme as small as possible. The xml was not included in the theme package because wordpress importer is buggy and it doesn’t save the entire data (sidebar, block settings, footer widgets, etc have to be configured manually).
On our demo’s menu are added only some categories that are set to megamenu and pages with submenu items: http://screencast.com/t/7sffQJtdul You can make your menu that you need by adding your pages and categories like in the screenshot. Also you can import predefined styles(stacks): https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-the-demo-data/
If you also need the xml files of the demo you can make a request for it on email and we will send it to you. Send your request at contact@tagdiv.com and also include a link to this topic.

Thanks!

We are having difficulties trying to import xml file. Are you sure xml file includes all the pages, posts especially under the FEATURES menü item. These are the samples I need to go on, because I am new at WP

Thanks

It’s actually better to start from scratch and NOT use the demo, and simply refer to the online demo site while playing around with your new test site. Otherwise when you actually decide to use it, you have to go in and clean house on all the categories, menus, starter demo ads, etc. — it’s much simpler to learn to use by having blank canvas and “build it up” with some test content, even if you’re using the same image on each test post to try out different layouts, etc.

Just an opinion….

I decided to use it actually.

But I am new at WP. I want to have all the demo content including a bit of everything ready to go edit and see how it is done.

I am going to create my content from scratch while I a use the demo content as referral when I need.

And I have a question for you Chris 🙂 It would be better for me if I could keep the demo site at edumag.net/demo . How I do that after having all the demo content, how can I move it to edumag.net/demo ?

Thanks in advance

You would need to do a new install of WP in the folder … or do a complex “multi-site” setup. See the WordPress codex for that.

Tip: when learning WP you can often do a google search like

WordPress Codex edit post

and find official docs for post editing. 🙂
