Hi.
We’re attempting to move 5 single websites into 1 multisite. We’re also trying to move from one hosting provider (iPage) to another (WPMU). We’re trying to migrate our Newspaper theme licenses from single site to multisite. Major problem that is preventing this is that CSS background images are not being converted properly. We’re using ‘Prime Mover’ plugin to do this.

Here’s what WPMU hosting indicates:

“For the missing images, they are set with CSS as a background image. You might get the same issue after manual migration. You’ll have to set the images again. This is the limitation of using static URL by the page builders.
The images are migrated, but the way Visual Composer saves the image URL can’t be replaced with a search-replace. I’m sorry, Robert.

The new upload path for this site is /uploads/sites/3

As we have many background images in the CSS panel, it would be impossible to fix every one manually.
Is there something we can do to fix this? We really enjoy the TagDiv Newspaper theme and wouldn’t like to go with another theme company.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. We are on a deadline to move hosting this week.
Thanks again!
Bob

Hi Bob,
I believe that I understand the problem. The images set with the tagDiv Composer are saved in the database with the old path (when the site was single), so the theme will look for images on old location.
I’m not sure how this can be resolved for all of the images that were set before, perhaps it can be done using a function or something similar. Unfortunately, you’ll require a developer for this. If you’d like, you may file a request here -> https://tagdiv.com/send-a-request/ and one of our developers will work with you to find a solution.
Thank you for your understanding!
Regards,
