Hello,
So my organisation publishes in academic journals as well as on our site and I’m having an issue highlighting these external links in a nice way (it’s not an RSS feed issue as discussed here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/grid-with-external-links-content/).
I’ve read on the forum that there’s no way to get external links into blocks, but ideally we’d like the external links to look similar to the way we display self-published research. So for example our self published list looks like this: https://snipboard.io/ponHFM.jpg, using FlexBlock 1.
I’ve tried to sort of recreate it using “image plus text” but I can’t find image alignment options so it looks like of wonky, like this: https://snipboard.io/6ixoyb.jpg.
Are there any ways to get external links to display nicely within the theme? Or any way I can wrangle the image feature to look kind of like the blocks?
Thanks,
Kaitlin
Hello Kaitlin!
You can adjust the picture there: https://prnt.sc/VjoVzQFySHie. Please check the guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/ Ideally, the texts should have the same length, so this issue won’t affect the other article/post to display nicely.
Thank you!
Hi Bettina,
Thanks but you send me a screen shot of the image adjustment in flex blocks, which require I link to posts on our site. I need this image to link to an external website, so I cannot use flex blocks or other TagDiv blocks.
So I am trying to adjust the image in an image + text element, which does not have the same image adjustment options.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kaitlin
Hello Kaitlin!
Please use an inline text element and a single background image element. Put them into a row, split into 2 columns, for example, and there you’ll have the settings to adjust the image. Also, every element has a CSS tab where you can change the margin, padding, and border.
Thank you!
Hi Bettina,
Okay thanks, this worked but took some tinkering because I wanted more than one link per line, so I share what I did in case it helps others:
- Divide row into three columns [or however many modules you want in a row]
- Add inner row to each column.
- Divide each inner row into columns as desired.
- Then add text and image to inner columns.
Cheers,
Kaitlin
