Newspaper 12 and 12.1 update has an issue with posts, all posts are redirecting to wp-comments-post.php, I deactivated all plugins and did my update still had the same issue, I have cleared the cache, I have done everything possible but it’s still not working, you people should fix the issue that you created with this new updates that you rollout
Hello @loverblessed !
We would like to investigate this issue further.
Please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide once again the following:
– admin url and credentials
– a link to this topic in order to identify you
Thank you!
sorry, I can’t grant you people access to my website, cause you will create more issues for me if you people don’t see the issue from your end on your newspaper 12. then no need, I have already downgraded to Version: 11.5.1. cause that is the only working version you have. thanks.
Hi loverblessed, this situation can also appears from some extra code in the .htaccess, but this is just an opinion, without investigating the problem we cannot say exactly why it is happening. I also checked mine and everything seems to be ok.
Maybe you can make a staging where we can check this problem.
Thank you!
Same problem here… It happens when you keep scrolling while the page is loading.
Hello pascal2187,
Do you see the same error like loverblessed – https://i.imgur.com/Slc5URQ.png if yes, please try the above steps.
In case that the problem is different, please do a test for plugin conflict, please try only with tagDiv plugins and see if the problem persist.
Thank you!
There is no conflict code on the .htaccess file this error only happens on 12 and 12.1 updates.
I even contacted my hosting provider and no problem from server side or other plugins.
Only from the new update of the theme,
Even my hosting provider said it’s a theme problem we had to Deactivate the theme and this problem went away.
Before I downgrade and saw that it’s a problem from 12 and 12.1.
Please you guys you fix this the update issue.
Disabling plugins has no effect. I have disabled the comment function on the pages. This ensures that no more errors appear. This is not the long-term solution, of course. I assume that you will have a solution soon.
I have checked and tested other websites that use Newspaper theme and there it is the same. I just think the owners of those websites don’t realize there’s a problem.
Hello loverblessed and pascal2187,
I’m not saying that it can’t be a problem in the update, but we have to identify it. From what we have tried so far, we have not been able to recreate this problem, maybe it only happens in certain cases or if certain elements are used. That is why we would like to investigate this problem on a site where it happens, or at least if it is possible to record how this problem is reached and try to recreate it on our installations
Thank you for your understanding!
Okay, I have detected how you can create the problem from your end.
Use Single Post Template – Medicine PRO as a Global template from the cloud template.
Then edit it using TD composer and add Single Post Comments element.
Save it and reload each post URL on your website.
That should create the problem from your end.
Thanks
Hi,
I just downloaded the Single Post Template – Medicine PRO and I set it as global, also I checked the single post comments element, this was added by default in the cloud template, bat I made some tests, first I test it like hat, than I added a new one, then I removed the elements and add it again.
Update: we just got an email from an user with a similar problem, we’ll check the problem on his entailment and we’ll let you know the results and the source of the problem.
Thank you!
Update: the user that contacted us via email with the problem like the one you mentioned in this topic was caused by this -> https://i.imgur.com/436po3Y.png and it get resolved using this guide -> https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-401-error-in-wordpress-solutions/
I hope this will help you to!
it’s totally a different problem it’s not similar, I gave you how to recreate the problem from your end but I guess you did not do it, well am done with this talk, and this is why I don’t want to give you guys access to my site cause you will just be doing try and error.
also please can you people make the Reviews feature an additional plugin that can be removed cause its the same thing as Comment. and most people don’t use it.
Is there any news @TagDiv about this issue? I like to activate the comments again.
Hello,
this situation with the comments was reported only by a few users, and after some tests with one of the users, it was discovered that the problem was not with the theme. We tried to recreate this problem for ourselves but we didn’t manage to catch it, so at this moment we don’t know exactly if it is caused by the theme or something else.
Our developers insisted that we ask the users who have this problem to let us inspect the problem on staging, but as we said so far only one user agreed and this problem was a little different and was not caused by the theme.
If you still have this problem on Newspaper v12.1, please create a staging and contact us by email at contact@tagdiv.com to provide us with your staging login data so that we can investigate this problem and solve it once and for all
Thank you!

that element is what is causing the problem it has since when you people brought the review option
I believe that when you make the review a separate plugin that can be removed.
i don’t know if you people change developers but this 12 has been one issue to another, website is just too slow now, comment issues
please I have reduced mine to 11.5.1 if you are facing issue just downgrade to 11.5.1 that is where the Newspaper ended with the best version. from 12 its just different problems.
Hi loverblessed,
We thank you for your honest feedback, and we are sorry that the latest version is a problem for you and does not help you! We also have feedback from users who are satisfied and who have been waiting a long time for this update for the new options that have been introduced.
Not all sites are the same, maybe for some users it works perfectly, and others encounter problems. We try our best to help everyone as much as we can.
Thank you for your understanding!
I also discovered something with the comments. Before the upgrade, the comment form was ajax. If you did not fill in a form field, you would receive an error at the bottom of the form. After the upgrade you will get a standard wprdpress error (as in the screenshot above) on another tab of your browser.
We opted for Newspaper at the time because, among other things, the commenst form was ajax. Now it suddenly appears that this is no longer the case and we are not happy about that.
I’ve been trying to make this clear for weeks, but people don’t take it seriously. I hope you will seriously look into this. Apparently I’m not the only one.
@marijnvdgruiter
Same here, no serious customer service. Blame plugins you use, when the problem really lies with the theme. I have multiple licenses for Newspaper with multiple websites, but the same problem on each website.
So don’t expect too much from the customer service here.
you guys have still not addressed this issue in your latest 12.1.1 update.
wow
Hello,
The update to v12.1.1 was for adding an extra security check to avoid potential vulnerability in Theme Options – https://i.imgur.com/B03bTO4.png – https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Thank you!
