I can’t get the author filter to work. Trying to create author pages with their posts and the included “Author Filter” only works if that person is an admin. Of course I don’t want all my authors to be admins so why isn’t this picking up just authors? I even tried making them editors and it doesn’t pick them up, only if they are admins.

The problem in our theme is due to a wordpress api bug: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/23228
