Best practices for showing filler content in each category?

We’re just about ready to launch the site. The home page is an overview of the 6 categories of topics, with each showing 3 articles (image, title, excerpt).

As there won’t be 18 articles online yet, 1-2 per day will be published, what is the best way to fill up the missing spaces with a certain post (f.i. “let us know what kind of articles you’d like to see most”).

Something like write a post, copy it 2 more times, assign it to each category and set it at a date that has already happened?

We don’t want to be changing the layout every day.

Hello Chris!

Can you please provide an example(screenshots/video) of what you’re trying to achieve?

Thank you!

Hi Bettina,

This is a sample with the demo articles.
The home page consists of a sample of each category.

Each category will be displayed like this, one under another.
So, 6 rows in total. Each category row will have 3 articles shown.

Since I’m building up this site and social media presence I’ll be publishing 1-2 articles per day so it will take a bit of time to fill up all those slots on the home page.

So where there is no article yet I want to display maybe a fixed article with always the same image. Sort of like a placeholder, but that entices the audience to let us know exactly what content they like to see.

So I’m thinking about having one article like that but trying to find a way to show it up wherever there are no 3 articles in each row yet.

Hello Chris!

Ok. I understood. Unfortunately, you can’t have a condition there and run a JS with the design from composer. But you can arrange them manually or set a filter that permits you to display the largest number of posts in that place.

Thank you!
