How do I embed images into a post and as the featured image

Hi there,

For my blog I plan to use Getty Images Embedded feature where they allow you to use their images for free (editorial use) as long as you embed them into your site through their code.

My question is, how do I do this?

I’ve YouTube’d some videos and I can see it’s possible to embed it in the post itself with a plugin but thought there may be a way to do it within the theme. Even with that being said, it doesn’t show you how to make it the featured image.
