Is it possible to edit the display format of the "Archive" widget?

Hi All,

I recently added the Archive widget to my website. It displays the archived pages very well.

However, my problem is that I have over 10 years worth of archived posts. That means that the monthly links to the posts creates a VERY long listing on my right hand sidebar.

Is there any way to reformat the Archive widget so that it displays only the most recent months but then after that, it will display links to different years? I’m just trying to figure out a way to make the archive sidebar widget smaller in terms of screen space.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi,

You can try to use this element from tagdiv Composer and limit the list https://i.imgur.com/Duzkntc.png
Also, you can assign a global template for the date in cloud templates and design it as you like -> https://i.imgur.com/qbnEM6u.png

Thank you!

Thank you!

Can you show me how to navigate to that Archives List page?

I’m not sure where it is.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can set the date in URL like this https://i.imgur.com/CfJhtHO.png or you can find the template here -> https://i.imgur.com/0hUQ5I2.png

Thank you!

Thanks again for your suggestions. I ended up just using the Archive “dropdown” option. I didn’t see that before actually. But it’s the perfect solution when you have 15 years of posts! 🙂 It doesn’t take up any space on the sidebar.

Have a great day.

Chris
