When you add a post, under “post settings” there is an item “Gallery”. You can add photos there.
But how do I add these photos to the post itself? They are not added just like that.

This https://postimg.cc/jLMVzJwv is a new option added in Newspaper v12.4 and the gallery images set in that place can be displayed only if you use a single post template. There is a special element that needs to be added with tagDiv Composer on the single post template – https://i.imgur.com/WYfm24N.png
