Newspaper 4.6.3 Conflict With Yoast SEO Plugin

I am using Newspaper 4.6.3 with one of my website http://www.wpdiv.com and it works well in earlier days. Currently i am experiencing some issues with its permalink, sub title and product review snippets (i am using star ratings)

After i have updated with Yoast SEO plugin into 2.1.1, experiencing peculiar issues. Once i have successfully published the post, incase if i edit the post for some reasons post permalink changes automatically. Also sub title and rich snippets parameters as well.

If i disable the Yoast SEO plugin, everything goes normal. What would be the cause for this issue?

Will you please help me to troubleshoot this issue?

Some people on the Yoast and Visual Composer forums are reporting issues with Yoast 2.1 and 2.1.1 with Visual Composer, including v4.5. Not theme related.

Check those support forums on the WordPress.org plugin repository for more info.

Perhaps a fix for Yoast will be coming ? Dunno.

With all the changes to plugins for the XSS flaws, I have a hunch this may crop up for the next couple of weeks with bunches of stuff.

Hi,

Check if the following solution works for you – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/yoast-and-visual-composer
If it doesn’t you could revert to an older version of Yoast until they fix it.

Thank you, Emil G.

I did try to downgraded yoast SEO into last two versions and tested with Visual composer, but the result is nothing. If i downgrade the Visual composer to 4.4.2, then issue seems resolved temporarily.

Will you please help me to find the exact issue?

Hi,

We’ll have to investigate this our self so I’ll add this to our todo list fro further testing and see if we can find the reason for this.
We’ll get back to you if we have an update on this.

Thanks for letting us know about this!

While this should be obvious …. and assuming you already checked all your Yoast settings, but:

be sure to turn OFF the “remove stop words” setting in Yoast SEO as that is known to cause issues since it does in fact change the actual permalink on the page.

May not be related to your issue. But I did notice on at least 2 of our sites with a Yoast plugin upgrade that got switched to “on” by default, which we do not want.

The conflict with Visual Composer and Yoast SEO is an issue not yet resolved by the two plugin makers, apparently which seems to have started after all the XSS patches done to WP and various plugins.
