I have installed newsmag demo and cleaning up whole site, everything going fine, but when i add new widgets in Footer1 in widgets area, it is not showing up, the demo content only still showing up, please help me to fix this issue!!

You need to change your settings in the theme panel > footer
to disable the “default” theme settings for the footer.

If you want to add your own widgets in the footer area you have to change the footer style from Theme Panel – http://screencast.com/t/E58Yv2TuQdX and then add widgets to it from Widgets section.

But i like the default footer style and want to use the same. In that case, i think i have to choose style 2 or style 6 then add widgets to get the same style effect, am i right? or is there any other way, i should follow?

Yes, you can use Style 2 , the Footer 1 columns remain predefined and add other widgets in Footer 2 and 3.
I’m not sure what you want to change. Do you want to use the default footer and also add more widgets besides default?
