"More Stories"

Hi –

The “more stories” feature seems to really emphasize posts that are very old. Is there a way to adjust the algorithm so it chooses related posts from, say, the last 5 years?

Thanks,
Mark

Hello Mark!

In order to avoid misunderstandings, please provide more information(screenshots/video) about what exactly you need to achieve or what is the issue there and your website link.

A solution for sending a screenshot/video is this:
Download, capture, and send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link; paste it here.

Thank you!

The suggested posts for my site (that started in 2005) are almost always from 2009 or so. It would be better to suggest more recent posts.

Hello Mark!

Go to Theme panel -> Post Settings -> More Article Box and make sure the filter is set to: https://prnt.sc/x3wmHKMaV33Z

Thank you!

OK, thanks. That certainly shows the latest post… but it always shows the same post.

The “random” setting doesn’t seem to really randomize anything.

It would be ideal to have the “from post tags” choose something that’s newer… randomly choosing if the algorithm is not smarter in choosing a related post.

BTW; for our news portals what we have used for several years is ‘Contextual Related Posts’ (webberzone). We do a section bottom of each post “Related Stories” with just text headlines to recent relevant stories. You can set a time frame (we do two years), and even limit to same category, like food and wine, vs say, all stories from a city. We don’t use the thubnail feature, so very lightweight and doesn’t overload our server running on dozen sites.
