Favicon not displaying in google search

Hi,

I’ve seen Anamaria’s response to multiple people with this problem:
“You can to add the favicon, in Theme Panel -> Header -> Logo and Favicon => https://www.screencast.com/t/H4ucPC2wwz
Also, on the homepage there’s an option Customize icon => https://www.screencast.com/t/I2uVvP4b -> Site identity -> Site icon -> Change image -> publish => https://www.screencast.com/t/lY9WEOZEj
Also, you can check this article https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/appearance/favicon-in-search”

Our favicon is already in these places though, yet in google search it is not displaying. Website is http://www.rareparenting.com. Any ideas? Note the tagdiv support is still an admin if you need to look inside. Thank you!

Best practices for favicon is to simply make the various sizes for different browsers and FTP them into the root of your domain, where the WordPress index file lives. This is then independent of any theme, or theme setting.

Hello Megan!

Try to reindex your website and see the changes.

Thank you!

Hi Bettina,

The favicons have been in those two places since the beginning, so there aren’t any changes that would require a re-indexing. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Tim,

Thank you for this info! It is above my abilities, I think, sadly. :/

Hello Megan!

But I can see your favicon here: https://prnt.sc/QiHl_xYC3O0T
Which means you’ve set it correctly. But maybe its URL is the problem. Please check out this thread: https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/115179597/favicon-not-showing-up-in-google-search-results?hl=en

Thank you!
