How can I use an author template for a guest author? Nearly all of the writers for the website are guests. We can’t use a plug-in like monologui because it doesn’t allow you to link the author to a template, nor does it allow you to control the layout and style, for the most part. So, we have to use custom fields to control the authors. However, each of them still have to link to a page. We can’t create a new page for every author.. we need to use a template. Can you confirm the best way to do this?

You can use a global template and this one will be also, for guest authors, or assign a template for each author in theme panel -> templates.

Unfortunately that doesn’t work. The guest authors are created via custom fields, so they aren’t listed in the user panel. I need to link each of them to an author page, and I’d like to use a template, so that we don’t have to create a new page for every author. Let me know?

The situation is a little bet more complicate, because on author page is looking for an user in database and since the guest authors are created via custom fields it will not work because it will not know what value to display in custom filed on author page.
Unfortunately, for the moment the only solution that I can think it is to manually made those pages.

It’s not really an option because if we have 50 freelancers, we won’t be able to maintain updating every page when we have design or copy changes. Aside from linking, how can I create a design template that I can use multiple times, versus re-creating a page 50 times and updating 50 times? It is possible to use templates in this way?

Unfortunately there is not an option for page template, what can be done is to duplicate a page and after that edit it.
Now I’m not sure, but eventually the development of this working principle will end up similar to that of an external plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/guest-author/).
What art should this page/template contain? because this is also very important, I think that if only information such as names and some texts are to be displayed, it can be obtained more easily, but if articles are also to be displayed, then the job will become more difficult solved.

The Guest Authors plug-in you mentioned doesn’t actually work. Per the plug-in, there should be a way to alternate between guests and users, and there isn’t. Do you know?
As for the content, yes, I need to be able to show all articles the author contributed to. Is this possible? Otherwise, is it possible to tag the author using the author’s name in each post, and display a posts loop by tag? However, the tag would need to be hidden from the page.

I understand what you mean, unfortunately, with the current implementation you can not filter the blocks after the guests added using cf. The thing is that in the current situation the only way to achieve an contributor page with articles that he contribute is by manually making a page for each one. However using the tag template can be a solution, but you also need to make a tag for each guest, and use as tag the name/username for that guest, in this way you can link the guest from article (the one made with cf) to the tag page with the guest name.
