I’m trying to create a page with all articles but I want to enable readers to search by “specific” categories (not all categories) and tags. When I use the filtering sorting options, I see all categories. How can I work around this?
To be clear, the website has for example, 15 categories, but I want users to be able to filter only by category 5,8, 12. How do I set those in the dropdown?

No that’s not what am aiming for. I am creating a way for users to filter articles according to categories and tags. I am trying to use the Flex Loop Filters but cannot understand the “taxonomies” part. When I write “category” under “slug” — it obviously shows all categories. Can I modify this to show only certain categories?
That’s the same question I am looking for an answer. I want the user will be able to choose any post, page, or category using that filter. Is there a way for that, please?

If I understood correctly, you want to offer visitors/users the possibility to filter the results on certain blocks and you are using the “Flex Loop Filters” element – https://i.imgur.com/VWVLeEd.png this is using the “TAXONOMIES” to filter the flex loop, and a taxonomy in this case is the category – https://i.imgur.com/cr3q2U4.png, post_tag – https://i.imgur.com/W1zhodQ.png and you can create your own taxonomies using a cpt plugin and doing this you can display only the “tax categories you want to be in that filter”.

Hello Calin! Happy New year… revisiting this post after a long while. I want to follow up as I managed to create a tag based filter. But here’s what I aim to do:
In the Category Page for Category A, I want users to be able to filter using a “Tag”. How do I display only specific Tags in the dropdown? I hope I could be clearer this time 🙂
