hello everyone, after the errors that occurred in the last update of the plugin in relation to wordpress – some of our links were disconfigured when accessed via mobile on Google. What should I do to fix it? At the time, I had the mobile plugin deactivated due to the errors it was presenting.

I need effective help to resolve all the links that are disconfigured.
see the attachments, please.
You advised us to deactivate the mobile plugins and I believe that this error was caused by this situation. I reactivated the plugin today, 11/30, after updating the theme. The first article after activating the plugin accessed by Google appears to be normal. I need to know how to resolve the other pages that were completely disconfigured. see attached thanks

please disregard the case as I have already resolved it by updating and activating the mobile plugin.
I use the AMP plugin I need help improving the appearance of the main page via mobile – the configuration found delivering a new format. How do we include new items like the menu at the bottom and our podcast section?
Hello,
Indeed, the website looks like this – https://imgur.com/a/1zYtTGP when the mobile theme plugin is not used and the amp template is not set on “Reader” – https://i.imgur.com/h07Jdi0.png. What can be done is to use only the amp with the reader option or use the mobile theme only for amp – https://i.imgur.com/ABYtYsQ.png
Thank you!
Calin, good night. At times, our website returns to the mobile version, completely disrupting Google’s indexing.
The situation is intermittent – when I save https://imgur.com/a/ZxpzfcR the AMP again it works normally again. How to resolve this issue definitively – I cannot use reader mode as it is not recommended and would downgrade our site. I’m no longer using the mobile theme plugin.
https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
Follow the guidelines in this link to the newspaper – however my theme is newsmag. One problematic situation is that I was no longer using the theme’s mobile plugin and I need to enable it. How to solve this problem please?
When I use the mobile plugin, my website is not complete in the mobile version – only the news appears – without podcasts, without videos, without other items that are classified as a complete website.
Hi,
We recommend using AMP together with our mobile theme plugin, in transitional mode. If you do not use our mobile theme, then AMP should be set in reader mode. In reader mode the AMP version looks very simple, with next to no options. The mobile theme is what ads some design and settings in the theme panel.
Please do not use AMP in transitional mode if you do not use the mobile theme plugin. Please set it in reader mode in this case.
Now, I’m not quite sure what the problem is exactly. Do the respective videos and podcasts appear correctly if you use just AMP alone? Could you provide an example of thee issues? I see a podcast in this post for example https://prnt.sc/8uHaGVTrgepS it’s an embed.
AMP is a bit stricter when it comes to the content, not everything works with AMP. It is meant usually for very simple content like, text and images, for better performance.
Ultimately you could consider not using AMP if there are problems or conflicts with the website content, or displaying that content for mobile visitors. AMP is actually rarely used these days. I myself almost never see it anymore, for quite some time.
Let me know.
Thank you!
Jumping in to say we finally removed AMP from all our sites and setup 301 redirects and the “errors” finally cleared out of our search console.
At this point, AMP serves no purpose, and frankly, the way Google works, coming up on two year mark, they could just anounce it’s no longer supported and stop working.
Advisable to move on from AMP and rely on mobile theme or optimized desktop site only (how we roll here).
🙂 Chris
good afternoon. I am immensely grateful for Chris and Simion’s considerations. Thanks!
Apparently I solved the problem by reactivating the mobile theme plugin and configuring our AMP site to standard mode – apparently I have all the content working and reporting Google indexing correctly. I need to follow up. Simion – the error is intermittent – at times the site presents errors in Google’s indexing or transforms the complete content into simplified content with just news.
Chris, I think a little differently – I believe that AMP is still necessary including a special condition for indexing before Google – in the search console this is a necessary condition.
Good morning. I’m still experiencing conflict and intermittency at times the site goes into AMP mode with a very simple view of our page and at other times the entire page remains.
What do you suggest – that in the theme plugin I apply mobile+amp or just mobile to try to solve this problem? I would like to emphasize that our website http://www.cidademarketing.com.br has a quick indexing of all the content we publish – being configured as main news in almost all publications – my concern is that from one moment to the next the views became conflictingly reduced or unconfigured. Thanks.
I’ll try to explain the intermittency:
I scan all the AMP that is installed with the mobile theme plugin.
OK?
The mobile theme is configured for AMP and when scanning the AMP plugin it recommends the default option. OK?
The default option is configured, but when I return to the panel it changes to transactional.
In the standard mode that I can only use when scanning, it can display my complete website – which is what I need, news, podcasts, events, interviews, etc. In transactional mode, the display of my website is limited to news only, requiring users to access the menu to access our full content.
In some situations, after scanning, the site spends 24 hours or more with full display – however, it suddenly changes to a simplified version.
Another detail is that I cannot delete the AMP plugin – as the mobile theme requires an integrated configuration – when I deactivate the plugin I receive several notifications that AMP plugin + mobile theme integration is necessary.
Chris,
What rules did you use to do the redirection? Didn’t you have a problem with the evaluation seen in the Google console since it charges for AMP pages there? Hugs,
Simion, good night. Were you able to be clear about the problem?
Please note that at times our website has limited content – not showing podcasts, events, interviews. I need the site to have a complete display of all content. in limited form, many contents are restricted.
Hi thalesbrandao,
The AMP plugin is deprecated so will no longer be provide any fix for it – https://developer.bigcommerce.com/docs/storefront/wordpress/platform-integration/enabling-amp now depends on users if they want or not to use they plugin.
Related the AMP and tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin, that message is just a notice -https://i.imgur.com/rFkgw9m.png to use the AMP plugin with the mobile theme plugin so you’ll use the mobile theme plugin for your AMP version, doing this (using AMP + Mobile theme) the Transitional template is the only one that can be used – https://i.imgur.com/JnFXjlY.png if you want to use any other one, then you’ll need to disable the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin and use only AMP.
In case you want to remove the amp you can use the steps provided by @simchris – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/kiss-amp-goodbye/
Best regards
thanks to Calin and Cris for sharing the content. For us, we still need to evaluate the complete elimination of AMP mainly to know the impact on our positioning on Google. Today, our publications are quickly indexed and many of them are described as top stories.
Let’s read Chris’s share to study.
Today I realized that when Google displays our AMP page of a featured article indexed in the search engine – the user cannot return to our complete main page but to the small content page. In Brazil, many websites – including UOL (www.uol.com.br) – still use AMP.
If we choose to remove AMP, would we have to deactivate the plugin and leave only the theme plugin marked as mobile?
thanks
Is there any way that when accessing an AMP page it returns to our full main page?
I reported in the images – Google news > we access > AMP version > when clicking to main page > limited/reduced main page – without our full content and just news.
simchris,
goodnight. If you could resend it to my email thalesbrandao@cidademarketing.com.br thank you. hugs!
UPSHOT: Google’s own docs say no penalty to killing AMP and setting up 301 redirects. It will generate errors in search console for a bit since inbound links no longer there, but that is why you have the 301 for /amp and /amp?=1 or whatever. The canonical link is the real main version of story, and even the amp versions linked to the canonical to not create duplicate posts. Essentially you are killing the duplicate posts. We did this for PDF versions 2 years back, also, same deal. 🙂 do it!!
Simchris, hello.
Could you please give me your email so I can ask you some questions?
My email is thalesbrandao@cidademarketing.com.br
Regards,
Good morning, everyone.
I’d like to resume this conversation.
I have a situation – our entire website is quickly indexed by Google – due to the relevance and history of our content.
However, some content, when accessed from Google via (laptop/desktop), is being reported as AMP – in a mobile-friendly format.
Given this, as Chris suggested, I can set a criterion that all AMP content be reported to the normal, full page.
With this code: RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^amp$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /$1? [R=301,L]
can I redirect without compromising my SEO structure? Is there another alternative for cases of this nature? Thank you.
