Migrating theme changes from staging to production

Hello,
we created a copy of our production website (already based on newspaper theme) on a staging environment to renew its layout, importing and adapting new sections, blocks, etc. from cloud templates. As we finally ended out with the development, now we want to push such changes from staging to production.
If we only import “files” (and not also the DB), it seems that theme changes are not imported. However, we cannot simply push the whole DB from staging to production, otherwise we will lose a lot of contents there were published in the meantime.
So the question: how can we import the newly developed version of the theme?

Thank you,
regards
Pietro

We use the WP Staging Pro plugin over here
(I don’t work here)

Hi,

Using the import/export option from the theme will allow you to import only the theme panel settings, the cloud templates go in tool > export – https://i.imgur.com/3Wxk885.png then to import you need to go in tool > import then install the wordpress importer and clink on run import – https://i.imgur.com/tyxoVvg.png
Also, you have to use a plugin for migrate https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

Thank you!

Hi Pietro, I have the same issue, I am trying to deploy from staging to main site, upgrading an old template, trying to exclude the post database in order not to loose the content published in the meantime .
Can I ask if you you managed? If yes, can I ask how you managed it, and a more detailed step by step guide?
Many thanks in advance.
