I am really struggling with getting adsense to work on my site. When adding the google adsense code for google to put ads in where they should they dont show up. ANd, when i do it by putting the code into the theme it does not work.

I can see that the title of the ad is displaying as it should. This means the element of the theme is working as it should. So, the problem there could be the ad code.
If you want to use auto ads (which are displayed randomly on your website), then they should be placed in the Theme Panel -> Analytics/JS Codes.
