Hello,
For legal reasons, we think of switching to local-hosted variable fonts (.woff2). These contain two files for every font, straight and italic. Now I have two questions:
(a) Am I able to upload .woff2 files in the theme panel?
(b) What do I have to do to make the template recognize that font-file 2 is the italic version of font-file 1?

a)Unfortunately, no. Because this format is not supported by WordPress.
b)Unfortunately, this is not possible.
