Dear all,
I would like to add further customization to my category pages in order to create “thicker” pages in terms of content.
I have already managed to add featured images and an introductory text plus meta descriptions to all categories, however, I would like to add further category-specific text boxes in between all the posts which are shown (which cannot be done via the standard category settings in WordPress).
Is there any chance to set additional specific content per category page?
Many thanks for any suggestions.
Betty

Hello Betty!
If you edit a category(Dashboard -> Posts -> Categories), you can see that you can add a category description there. This text can be displayed in your category template with the help of the element called “Category Description.” It will automatically take the text from every category.
Thank you!
Many thanks for the suggestion Bettina,
I had already found this option and added a formatted description for each category. It’s properly displayed.
However, I would like to modify the categories further to include multiple post grids with additional content in between.
I am especially looking for options to add this additional content, tailored to the categories.
Can this be achieved via templates, or would I need to create standalone pages for that?
Many thanks
Hello Betty!
You can use custom fields. Check this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/custom-fields-support/.
They will appear when you edit a category: https://app.screencast.com/xp2OREl0DvymJ and you can have different values for each category. The rule can be chosen like this, so it will be available for all your categories: https://app.screencast.com/frcxh7fsbj7Il
Thank you!
Many thanks, sounds like the solution I had been looking for.
Thanks for the excellent support – as always, Bettina!
Enjoy your weekend
