Facebook Link Preview Not Working

Well, my website’s (www.techlegends.in) Facebook link preview is not working when I try to share a post. And, when I tried to debug the URL on Facebook, it shows that it “Failed to get Composer template data”. So, I thought that it may be related something to Visual Composer. Is it?

Hi,

You can check this also without any plugins leave just Visual Composer and Seo by Yoast active, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN, also check if your og: meta data are added properly in your page source. Also you can check this topic – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/opengraph-not-working

Thanks!

Can you explain about the og: meta data ? Because I haven’t touched on any codes.

You need open graph (OG) data in your headers, such as using plugin like YOAST SEO (or other plugin) which adds those.

If you “view source” in your post page, you should see meta data with OG tags… these tell Facebook which image and snippet to use when capturing your site posts.

Hi,

The theme doesn’t control og data, so you have to use a plugin for this like Seo by Yoast and check your page source if your meta data are added properly. Also this error is not related to Visual Composer plugin. I have checked some of your articles and you don’t get that error for all, some of them(that I checked) can be shared fine – http://screencast.com/t/V2GN9KNqGfahttp://screencast.com/t/lJEJXe9SP
Not sure why you get this error for some of your articles, I think that this is a facebook issue – it seems that either your site, or your host, or where your image paths are were maybe blacklisted – please check this as reference – http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24636903/what-does-failed-to-get-composer-template-data-mean-in-facebook-lint

Thanks!

Thanks for all the information. I appreciate your help.
And, it finally got resolved automatically. I guess it was Facebook-end problem. But god knows why it happens frequently. I’ve never encountered any problem on Google+.
