How to add shortcode?

Hello,

I’m trying to add shortcode for The Events Calendar plug-in calendar. Their calendar page cannot be edited so I created a new page and would like to add their calendar to our page using their shortcode like an embed. However, if I input it in editor, other elements on the page lose their formatting. I have tried to input in in various places within editor and nothing works correctly.

Is there another way to include shortcode? The company does not have an HTML version to offer. Gutenberg has a shortcode block but I don’t see one with TagDiv. I tried to drop it into a widget but that also didn’t work (but maybe I don’t know the way to do it).

Please let me know?

Thanks!

Just to follow up, I also tried “text with title” but adding the shortcode in there also made the other elements on the page go haywire.

Hello!

A shortcode can be inserted also by using the element called “Column text” or “Text with title”. “Column text” and “text with title” elements have a button called “edit content” and if you click on that button, the WP Editor will open, and you can add some text/code/shortcode there. Close the WP Editor from X, save the changes from Composer and view the page to see the changes.

Thank you!

Hi Bettina, I tried that, but the other elements on the page go haywire: https://imgur.com/y1TN1MC

and the sides of the calendar are cut off: https://imgur.com/a/5rxEwG8

I also tried using a widget, which doesn’t affect the other elements on the page, but the sides of the calendar are also cut off: https://imgur.com/a/onKLNOR

Hello!

Please add a new row with stretch row and content option enabled. Let only the text with column element in that row and try again.

Thank you!

I tried that already too. It fixed the elements at the bottom of the page but not the top, and the sides of the calendar are still cut off. See the duplicated test page I made here: https://rareparenting.com/events-calendar-test/

Right now for settings I have: no margins set, the text with title is in it’s own row, and it’s on stretch row.

See the loom video here – I am also showing you what it should look like, using their default template. You can see the text with title distorts the search bar. That actually doesn’t happen when it’s in a widget, but in the widget the sides are also cut off, even with stretched row with content: https://www.loom.com/share/cd25f5a143714241a8c43b9eaaf3af1e?sid=5b636822-94c7-43fb-809f-7478830c09ae

Hello!

Try to set the width 100% or add some paddings in the CSS tab of the element.
If this won’t affect the shortcode, then you can change it only with some CSS code.

Thank you!

I tried that already too. You can see on the page below, I have inserted both the widget and the text with title blocks:
https://rareparenting.com/events-calendar-test/

Padding is set and for some reason only works on one side of text with title, and doesn’t effect the widget. Padding doesn’t work in the element or the row at all, only the column.
Width is set to 100% in the column, row and element for both elements.
