Background image not visible when background colour is set

Hi,

I’m using the background ad function with an image defined in theme panel -> background -> theme background.

However, I have some pages on my site configured to a different background colour, using the zone -> css -> background colour option in TagDiv composer. On those pages, the background colour takes priority over the image, so you no longer see the ad.

Is there a way to prevent this? I need the background colour on certain pages, with the background image overlaid on top.

Thanks!

Hello,
I see, the priority on background image is lower then the one for background color so, there are a few workarounds, so the first situation will be to set a color with an opacity so the image is also display. The other situation is to use a custom css to bring the image element in front, for this I will need a link to a page where this situation appears.
Thank you!

Hi Calin,

Thank you for the prompt response.

Is it possible to suggest making background image priority higher than background colour in a forthcoming update? Seems logical that the image should take precedence.

Had a play with colour opacity but couldn’t get the right results, especially on a dark page.

Currently experiencing the issue on a local test site; will send you a link when I have a live example.

Thanks!

Hi,
I understand you, but this decision was made so you can set a color over the image so you can add a text to be visible.
Yes, when the site is live please provide a link to it and we’ll do our best to help you!
Thank you!

Hi Calin,

That makes sense, too. Perhaps an option in the theme panel to “keep background image as top layer?”

Best of both worlds. 🙂
