Does the Newspaper theme have a read more function for articles or posts.

or this
https://wordpress.org/plugins/expand-maker/
This feature is good for SEO as it activates interactivity with the page and most big sites have this feature in them.
Was wondering if Newspaper has this or a similar feature?

Unfortunately, no the theme doesn’t have this option to read more inside the post content. This is on our list for future implementation, but I don’t know when this will be added. You can have read more on the blocks.

Thanks for the update Ana, this is one of the most sought-after features when it comes to SEO as it increases engagement, which Search Engines are looking for. Hopefully, soon we will be able to see it and other good new SEO innovations.

There is the read more tag button available in wordpress, but that does not work with newspaper theme on desktop or Mobile. https://snipboard.io/Hx4fn0.jpg
That option never worked with our theme.
If you want to use a read more button the only way is to use a plugin. Out of the two plugins you mentioned above, only one exists anymore. Isn’t it working with the theme perhaps?

I tested this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/read-more-without-refresh/ and it works fine.
I add the fist shortcode where I want the button to appear -> https://prnt.sc/Gm8VKbq3wnPV
And the last shortcode at the end, or where I want the read more hidden content to end -> https://prnt.sc/_3L00TGUQZu1
The button is displayed like this -> https://prnt.sc/qjKVVJwlmip7 and it works fine.
