I’ve implemented the Single Post Reading Progress Bar on my website using the Tagdiv Newspaper theme. However, I’m encountering a jittery scrolling issue, especially in mobile, and desktop too. The progress bar increments in full percentages (e.g., 20%, 21%), causing a noticeable jump.
On another site with a different theme, the progress bar updates more smoothly, with fractional increments (e.g., 20%, 20.22%). This smoother transition significantly improves the user experience. If this issue could be addressed, it would enhance the usability of the Newspaper theme’s progress bar.
if it was updated we will be happy to use it on out site.
Hello,
Please provide some screenshots. This is how the scroll bar works -> https://we.tl/t-EZoPKrwIhN
Thank you!
Here is a screen recording for better understanding. how the width changes on scrolling.
I uploaded the screen recording to OneDrive. Here is the link: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Av5FAKsItry3nE240dlRg7OzXh-G?e=XMrKgi
Hello,
It works relatively well, but now it depends on how fast you scroll on the page -> https://we.tl/t-KENWdbGhYR
Thank you!
Yes. it works. but I compared it with my other site but has differences as shown in the video. The amount I scroll on both sites, both scroll has different, especially on mobile devices. The newspaper’s Progress bar does not go with scrolling. it takes little time to adjust. I’m talking about this latency. Where the other site’s progress bar goes according to the scroll, doesn’t matter how much or how fast users scroll. And that latency feels that the web page jitter.
here is a better example video (screen recording): https://1drv.ms/f/s!Av5FAKsItry3nE4LQlxz5oc7JK_t?e=06SSeh
Thank you.
