I’m experiencing issues with the Newspaper theme. Since switching to it, my site has become extremely slow, and I’m getting frequent CPU overloads on my hosting server, along with the “Error establishing a database connection” every 10-20 minutes. When I switch to another theme, everything works smoothly without any problems.

I’m not encountering any errors on my WordPress site, and it runs smoothly with other themes. The issue only started when I activated the Newspaper Theme. I’ve been using Newspaper theme for about three months, and everything was fine for the first two months, but the problem arose recently. I don’t believe the database is the cause of the issue.
Have you setup security hardening for your site, such as blocking access to XML-RPC, includes pages for core, etc. Database can be overloaded if you have too many hack attempts pummeling site at same time as normal access to pages touching the php and dbase system.
