I’m trying to make the image caption appear on all pages like the home page (e.g. as seen here: https://www.jungewelt.de/) and not only on the post page (this is where it appears atm), because i need the CC license to be shown everywhere.

it would be great if this could be implemented asap because otherwise everyone who uses newspaper theme could face legal problems if they can’t show the caption (e.g. with the creative commons license) in preview images.

If you need to set the caption on images that are displaying in blocks, then it will be need to use the module builder and ACF plugin. Use the ACF to add an extra filed (text) were to set the text you want to be display for the featured image, after that create your own module and add the element custom filed, and select the one you added and set it with Flex Block Builder.

The attachment cloud template shows the ‘description’ field, inexplicably.
How can this be fixed or modified to show the ‘caption’ field (which is what everyone uses!). It seems that Tagdiv is incredibly slow on fixing this as the OP asked for this almost a year ago.

The feature the user requested is not a default option from WordPress (the provided example is not using WordPress). It is a custom solution that appears only in the block module when an image and caption are used together. This functionality is not standard for block modules it’s typically only available for standalone images. We implemented this as a custom addition and have provided the necessary solution. Ok, thanks. But…with the attachment page templates, Tagdiv uses the description field. But it’s the caption field that needs to be displayed (this is the default for WP but you are using something else). We are using one of your cloud based attachment page templates.

I see what you’re referring to, but it’s a bit of a different situation when looked at from another angle at the main topic.
But, you’re right, when it comes to attachments in the cloud elements, there are only a limited number of options available. Unfortunately, there’s currently no built-in setting to display just the image caption only for description.
