Megamenu and submenu options don’t work at all

As the title says, turning on megamenu, or even importing a whole header with any type of drop down menu in the preview, etc.. nothing happens. It doesn’t matter what is enabled, disabled, saved. I tried inserting another menu, but it makes no difference at all. I’ve been trying different things for about 3 days, all I want is for it to show some article items with images from the specified category with mouseover.
