Gallery on homepage of https://staging.gayety.com does not populate the image captions, despite them being set to show.

Yes we do use the gallery field from ACF pro for this.
I have implemented a workaround with a javascript to extract the alt attribute and append that as a caption, but the default behavior of the theme/tagDiv does not display the caption.
If there’s any way we could get it to work natively with the theme, that would be preferred.

Unfortunately, if you are using the ACF pro version for the gallery, the theme option does not apply. It only displays captions for those created from posts/custom posts. To show captions with ACF, custom modifications are required. Please check this guide ->
