search not working

When using the search function on my website, search for “rome” will go to http://www.thetravelmagazine.net/?s=rome and this URL just refreshes the homepage. Instead, the correct URL should be http://www.thetravelmagazine.net/search/rome

Any idea why this redirect is not working?

I have checked your site and also category url doesn’t work – http://screencast.com/t/PTXq4vmadtr Please resave your permalinks and also deactivate all plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and check if you still have this issue.

Hi Alin,

Thanks for pointing out the issue with the category URL. There seems to be a problem with Yoast SEO plugin which should strip /category from the URL (if you put /category/world it works fine). I’ll speak to Yoast devs. This problem is fairly recent, it worked fine a week ago.

As for ?s=rome, I disabled all plugins except Visual Composer, I emptied all cache and the problem is still there. Actually, this problem does not seem to be related to the Newspaper theme, as it occurs even if I change to one of WP default themes.

Hi,

I have checked your site and it seems to be fine now, glad that you have managed to solve this.When you search
doesn’t refresh, it takes you to the search page/template and also category page works fine now.
