We are currently working with the Newspaper theme and have encountered a technical challenge related to automated content publishing.
Using the n8n platform, we’ve successfully built a full automation workflow. The process starts with a headline pulled from Google Sheets and continues with the automated generation of a well-optimized article. The article is then published to our WordPress site in draft status. We handle the remaining tasks manually — assigning categories, adding featured images, and completing SEO setup.
This workflow works perfectly on sites using Elementor-based themes. However, we’ve been unable to achieve the same results when using the Newspaper theme. The article either fails to appear or doesn’t behave as expected in draft mode.
Our main question is: What is the correct and compatible way to programmatically publish articles to draft status using the Newspaper theme? Is there any specific setup or hook your theme requires that differs from standard WordPress functionality?
This functionality is critical for our project, and we would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to make this work properly with your theme.

Normally, the theme should not interfere with WordPress’s ability to schedule posts or save drafts. However, if it’s not working correctly, we’ll need to identify the source of the issue.
I suggest testing the functionality with only the theme activated (no additional plugins). Then, re-enable the plugins one by one to see when the problem reappears. This should help pinpoint whether the issue is related to a specific plugin.

Perhaps you did not understand the essence of the questions. We do not publish articles in draft or draft form ourselves. We have created AI automation on the n8n platform, which itself creates professional, good articles on topics that are not written by others using artificial intelligence modules and then the AI agent automatically places the article on our page under drafts. So, everything is going correctly for us on Elementor pages and the automated placement of articles is happening without errors, but only the title appears in your theme and the rest of the article is not accepted from the AI agent. A possible problem is that when working with your theme you have to choose a single post template, etc. We need to find a solution so that your theme accepts articles created by our AI agent.

Thanks for the clarification, I really didn’t understand how it works correctly.
If you assume that the situation may be from the template on the article, I suggest you do a test using the default template – https://i.imgur.com/My6fwMe.png https://i.imgur.com/mJP7w3i.png also if it were possible to test on a staging it would reduce the search area to detect what generates these problems. There it could be tested strictly with the theme plugins and possibly only with tagDiv Composer to see if it only works correctly with it.
