No caption on Single Post Content image

Hello – can you see why no caption is appearing under the Single Post Content image here – https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2026/01/24/jj-01-66-owning-up/?

The caption does appear on another article using exactly the same template – https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2025/12/27/reviewed-sun-ra-and-his-myth-science-arkestra-anne-paceo/

If I change the https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2026/01/24/jj-01-66-owning-up/ to a template with Featured Image, the caption appears ok.

Regarding your imgur, on clicking I see “Content not viewable in your region.”

It seems that either you haven’t read what I said or have misunderstood it. Yes, this is a featured image, but placed within Single Post Content. There is no featured image element in the template.

The mystery is that such a featured image appears perfectly well in previous articles using the SAME TEMPLATE, such as this:

So the question, again, is why have captions stopped appearing in new articles using the same template?

Thanks – I don’t know what you mean by “check the image caption settings and compare them with how the image appears on the article page. It’s possible that one image is configured using Gutenberg with different settings than the other.”

The caption is placed in WordPress as always, in both examples I give. Can you take a look at the WordPress admin page to see this, in each case?

For both posts given above (one showing, one not showing caption) I have checked wp-admin and media library in both cases and the settings and preferences seem to me to be identical.

Now, strangely, the caption is appearing in https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2026/01/24/jj-01-66-owning-up/

after I removed the photo from post and then replaced it again, with no other changes. It appears to be some glitch, then.

I see now the problem, for your info: I added the caption to the image in Media library after I had placed the image in the Single Post Content. Evidently, the image will not pick up the caption in these circumstances but only reflect what is in the media library at the time the image is placed. You might want to fix this, so the image always reflects any changes made in Media library.
