Hello,
I have a site running on Newspaper theme. All is well until I enabled my members to add comments on blogs. I can only find “Recent comments” element. It displays who commented when on what post. I would like to display the first few words of the comment as well. I thought I would be able to use “Latest comments” element in this case, but I can’t find it in the available elements. Is this intentionally removed?

Hi,
I think that you can use the “Recent comments” element from tagDiv Composer https://i.imgur.com/uxQNmwV.png, this will display teh author and the date when the last comment was added.
Another solution is to try a plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/comments-widget-plus/
