How can I disable the Author Template?

How can I disable the Author Template page or section? It’s not serving any purpose for me, and I see that it’s generating searches and visits from Google, which I don’t need. Can someone guide me on how to disable or even delete it? Thanks.

Hi,
This can be done using an SEO plugin, for example, using Yoast SEO > Settings you can disable the author archives and disable so is no longer display in search apparance – https://prnt.sc/rOmaTD9FRMw1

Excellent, thanks Calin. I do indeed have Yoast SEO installed, but I didn’t know it was responsible for even displaying the author’s name. Now I’m optimizing Yoast SEO so it doesn’t share what I don’t want it to.
