What I mean is that some news are not showing an excerpt at all, even if they have content. You can check it here: http://larepublica.es
If you open the article, they have a text in it. SO why would it not show an excerpt?

No. We are just removing the news without excerpts to clean the site. But, it would be nice to know where excerpts are generated, so I can check out what is going on.

Might be due to the errors on your page .. check F12/console in Chrome to see errors from your ad modules. Try turning off the bad ad systems being used and see if excerpts work or not.
Two twitter errors and one serving-sys.com error so far found in one click.
Perhaps you should try turning off plugins to see which one causing the problems.

The manual excerpt overrides the auto generated one. For the posts that don’t have an excerpt there are two possibilities – the auto excerpt did not manage to extract the info or there is a manual excerpt like a space ‘ ‘.

The problem was a broken HTML in the post. Some HTML tags were not closed.
Maybe the excerpt extractor needs clean HTML to work right?
