The new Visual Revisions feature in WordPress 7.0 doesn’t appear to be compatible with the Newspaper theme.
Are there plans to make it work? It’s a very helpful feature and one I’m sure Newspaper users would like to take advantage of.

On my end they weren’t working even with a default wordpress theme. I eventually started looking online until I found this topic https://wordpress.org/support/topic/visual-revisions-do-not-appear-after-updating-wordpress-core-to-7-0/
In my case I had the wordpress custom fields enabled in the block editor https://prnt.sc/e4z7BSMLYBiv and that was preventing the visual revisions from working.
But these new revisions are indeed not working with the theme. We’ll see what we can do about it.

Thank you for following up. Out of interest I did try switching to the default Twenty Twenty theme, and visual revisions did then work.
