Hi, Installed the new social counter and it’s accurately reporting the number of Instagram followers. It looks like it should on Safari. But on Chrome and Firefox the social icons are missing.

And sometime a carat appears.

Hi,

Did you removed the old theme files before updating the theme? You might have this issue because the old elements files(icons files) are still from the version 4 of the theme. So please make sure that the old theme files are removed. Try to remove these files – http://screencast.com/t/efvmLsNHhD and paste instead the new files from package that you have downloaded from themeforest(new version of the theme) and clear cache. Also please provide a link so we can take a look.

Thanks!

Hi, I deleted 4, and the social counter and speed booster plugins before uploading 6. However, there are a number of little things that look wrong on my site. So perhaps more should have been deleted other than just the Theme itself?

Other problems:

– all previously created shortcodes are broken and must be recreated in the formats section
– SEO by Yost is not affecting the displayed page titles of pages – and the automatic page titles are pushing some words together for some reason.

I will try making the above change. It’s a little beyond by familiarity level though. I’m not a programmer.

Can you advise if there are other pre-existing files that should be removed and replaced?

Hi,

I have checked your site and seems that you social icons are fine now – http://screencast.com/t/xrGeObvUHXFE

Unfortunately we have changed the shortcodes for qoutes and dropcaps(I guess that this is what you mean), now they use html. We tried to add them but on some cases there was a chance for errors to appear and we decided not to include them in the script. Please try to add the following code at the end of the functions.php file – http://screencast.com/t/OWxqEsYVKhttp://pastebin.com/7yme4TLv

Also it was an issue with SEO titles, but it was fixed in version 6.2.1 – http://screencast.com/t/Vmhsdqqhe so please download and update to this version(after you update it may appear version 6.2 in Theme Panel as we forgot to change the theme version). If you don’t want to update, here is a quick fix – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/urgent-title-changues-newspaper-6-2-bug/#post-57451

Hope this helps!

What browser are you using to view the social calendar links? Are you on Safari?
It works in Safari, but not in Firefox or Google Chrome. I don’t know about IE or other browsers.

On both of those it still looks like the image above.

I have fixed the SEO Title and Shortcode issues. Thank you.

I made the recommended change to fix the social icons, but they are still missing on Firefox and Google Chrome. They both appear as they do in the image above. As I mentioned, it already worked ok in Safari.

Hi,

I used chrome when I have checked your site in the above screenshot. I have checked again your site using Chrome, Firefox, IE11 and did not found any issue with social counter icons – http://screencast.com/t/oTYzwXgnJakjhttp://screencast.com/t/WPtGR8ksLWTx please clear cache and also browser’s cache.

Thanks!
