Open Question: Where can I find the Custom CSS file?

I’m desperately looking for the custom CSS file in one of my back-ups as I have just installed MultiSite and all my CSS has been deleted. Does anyone know where I can find the file so I can copy and paste from a back up?

I don’t think there is a custom CSS file — custom CSS added to the theme panel goes into a field in the dbase, I believe. Always good to backup your custom CSS to a text file from time to time, as I do.

If you mean the main style.css, that is of course in the main /theme/ folder. There are other CSS files also found in the /includes/ folder.

But wait for tagdiv support to possibly provide a better answer.

Most themes do that now for the “custom CSS panel” in the theme — if they wrote that to a file like in the old days, then every time theme was updated people would lose all their custom CSS; so having it in the panel with the dbase means it can be saved/exported with the theme options (typically).

I’ve gotten in habit of saving stuff into a work folder along with ftp backup; and name the files things like snip-customcss.txt snip-functionshax.php etc.

So, having backed up before installing Multisite would the CSS be in the database of that backup? And where would that be found?

I did back up the database with the UpDraft back up plugin. So just wondering..

Thank you for the suggestion but sadly my CSS is gone for good. Lesson learned though. Always keep a back up of your CSS file locally.
