If you are on mobile and you click thru to the stories, the images are NOT loading. Why? They load fine when they are on mobile safari or other browsers, but if you are clicking from Facebook, the images are blank.
Is this a settings issue or FB issue?

I’m not sure if I understand well. Do you wan to say that when you access an articles from your fb page the images are not loading?
I have checked this but did not found any issues for you posts. For example this one – http://ecoronado.com/news/2015/10/25/trick-or-treat-at-the-coronado-retirement-village/ the content image is displayed on my Ipod, of course the featured image is not displayed as you hide it for post content. This works exactly like on desktop.
Please provide more details if this is not what you mean, maybe I did not get it well.

The page looks great on a web browser and a mobile device.
The problem is when you are logged into your Facebook account and then launch the story. So, do the following from your mobile phone:
1. Open Facebook App
2. Go to this page “Coronado Island” (https://www.facebook.com/coronadoisland)
3. Open the story of girl with candy bars
If you are looking at that story from the Facebook App on a mobile device, the photos don’t display.
That is the problem.

That’s exactly what I did yesterday and did not found any issue. I also checked this right now and the same when I access an article from your fb page, it takes me to the post page and all the images are displayed properly.
I also said that you you don’t display featured image on your post, but the images from gallery are fine. Tested on Ipod!

What device do you use? I also tested this on S4 mini(android) and and did not found any issues.
Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and check again. Also you could try to disable lazy load effect and see if you still have this issue – http://screencast.com/t/34AMsRuQ
