Hello Howard,
Unfortunately we do not know what plugin you use but it is clearly not working as expected. As you know by now, we have not tested social plugins with our theme as we have our own social counter and icons. You will have to either use CSS to adjust the styling or find another plugin that works. Not all of them work with our theme 100%.
You will have to use a bit of trial and error to find one that works out for you.

Unfortunately the avatar you suggested does not come from our theme.

The options from your screenshot: profile, notifications, messages, forums and settings do not originate from our theme, nor could i find them on your website. I can see that it looks ugly. Maybe there is a css solution for it. Provide a link to the problem and i will take a look and maybe figure out a solution, but i wanted to point out that it is not theme related.
