Image resizing

Buna dragi romani,
felicitari pentru o asa tema reusita.
I have asked a professional service to migrate the content from joomla to wordpress and we are having issues with too many errors in terms of pciture sizes. I am not sure where the problem is but here is what the site looks like- pictures are of many sizes/ many orientations, some pictures are missing.

Questions:
1. What do you recommend we do moving forward and fixing these image resizing issues for hundreds of posts?
2. How can we add a default image for the posts that do not have an image?
3. Moving forward- what is one safe image size that will not create such issues in the future? I know that it all depends on where it will be placed but some general guidelines would be very appreciated?
Multumesc mult,
Teo

I use the Auto Post Thumbnail Pro plugin via Envato to solve this — we did the same thing for one site couple years back. Great cheap plugin solves the “attach to featured” issue. To enlarge images, also add the free “thumbnail upscale” plugin.

We use 640xNNN size images here as best “one size for all.”

Hello Teo,
As Chris suggests (thanks Chris) you will have to use plugins to set the images as featured over multiple posts as the theme does not have an option for it.
For the images, there is no ‘one size fits all’. You generally need to upload an image that has a size bigger than the largest container you plan to use it in.
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
