Yes, I’m using an old version of Newspaper (3.5)
I have 2 problems and because updating will be painful for us, I wanted to ask 1st, before taking this rough path.
1. When loading the theme’s customize page in the Admin section, The right pannel is blank and there’s an error mentioning td_get_template_directory_uri()
I searched and I think this issue will be solved by updating, but maybe there’s something else I can do to get rid of it ?
2. On the home page, We have this big slider set up. Couple of weeks ago, the picture inside the slider started to appear as “cropped”. What I mean is that the image is now bigger than de div it’s included in….
So it seems to us the image is zoomed in, considering that the borders are not displayed.
Any help / experience / hugs are welcome.

Hello,
Please understand that your version of the theme is very old. We are now at version 6.5.1. Lots of plugins were updated and even wordpress was updated since then and we cannot assure the old theme functionality with the new versions of plugins/wordpress. The current version of the theme has improved a significant amount from the version you are using and the code was changed radically. It is basically a new theme from the one you are using. We will however do our best to help you and possibly come up with a solution but we cannot guarantee an update will not be required.
