I was wondering how to edit the default post template so that the featured video displays below the content instead of above it.

You can change this order of featured video if you alter the core template file. For display featured video, we recommend to use only with those post templates: Post style default, Post style 1, Post style 2, Post style 9, Post style 10, Post style 11 .

The result you should see here: http://screencast.com/t/EOtA4WFj There is a quick solution for what you want. This is not a simply task to move the player in the side and it required custom work. We do not provide a custom work at the moment, sorry. If you want custom work, I consider to hire a developer or freelancer to do this for you.

As I can see in your screencast, you do not use a feature video in video style. In your case, you can insert the URL video where you want with simply copy/paste, like that: http://screencast.com/t/QKUeBfn4DWCS and the video will display perfectly.
