Hi Everyone
I’ve been struggling to get tracking event reports from the manually added banners from the page. Our codes are very well working with our other websites; tagdiv team is also unable to find a solution.
I tried; rawjs, raw html and custom adbox..I tried mostly everything but the click rates are not shown in the google events section. I also contacted Google team; they said everything works fine with the codes etc; but the website does not send reports to google! by the way The google analytics code works okay..
This is the code we are tracking all the clicks from the banner on our other websites.
<a href=""http://www.xxxx.com/en/" target="_blank" onClick="_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'xxxBanner',
'Click']);"></div>
We place it in WP-text and works fine in other wordpress themes..but with newspaper theme nothing works.
Can anyone help me out?
Hi,
the event tracking code should work fine with our theme. My first conclusion is that all the Javascript from the pages is not working properly due to either a plugin or a revers proxy that minimizes the code like cludflare + rocker launcher. We can have a look at your site if you want – please email us to contact@tagdiv.com and also send a link to this forum thread and one of my colleagues will debug the javascript of the page.
Sorry for this 🙁 but the most common causes for issues like this that we encountered are poorly written 3rd party plugins.

Hi Radu
Thanks for following the topic.
I’ve been talking with Lucian from your team. He’s been trying to find a solution for a while now but no luck. In the end, he suggested me to contact google which I did last week. They checked the website and the codes we use, they said everything ok. We have 3 other websites and google made comparison between them and all the settings are the same. So there’s only one thing left is that the theme. I’m beginning to think that it’s the VISUAL COMPOSER blocking the hits going to analytics.
I’m not a webmaster nor coder but I’ve been doing simple things on wordpress for more than 4 years which’s worked fine until now 🙂
The plugins that I use are mostly came with the theme. I don’t think there’s a plugin interfere with the event tracking.
I believe your team mate has the creditentals to access to my website.
Can you check it please?
Hello,
Sorry but there were very little requests in this regard so any further investigation in this regard was not made. Please try to implement analytics through a plugin so you can bypass the theme’s interference over the analytics code.
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.
